Friday, 8 April - Students and Staff at Shafston's Brisbane Campus gathered in Cafe Renoir to raise money for the victims of the Japanese Tsunami. The total raised including the Raffle, Japanese Lunch and Shafston Teacher Bake Sale was $1,763.30.

In Australia 30,000 children are known to be victims of abuse and neglect each year. The National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN) is the leading independent advocacy body working to develop and promote effective strategy, policy and action throughout Australia for prevention of child abuse and neglect.
NAPCAN’s mission is to advocate on behalf of children and young people and to promote positive change in attitudes, behaviour, policies, practices and the law, to prevent abuse and neglect and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all Australian children.

The RSPCA is a community-based charity that works to prevent cruelty to animals by actively promoting their care and protection. With an intake of over 40,000 animals statewide per year, RSPCA Queensland has been serving the State for over 125 years.
The RSPCA offer on-site vet services, care for wildlife, livestock, exotic pets, and find homes for dogs and cats. They also educate the community about the importance of humane treatment of animals and prosecute those who commit acts of cruelty and neglect.
