Shafston University Mansions - Located on Floors 4-11
Shafston University Mansions is purpose built student accommodation located adjacent to the historic grounds of Shafston House. It offers accommodation services to students from all Shafston campuses as well as other Brisbane universities and education providers.
Shafston University Mansions consist of 170 individual apartments designed for the needs and budget of Australian and international students. Students can enjoy single, double or triple room accommodation each with their own bathroom and kitchen. Each apartment is fully furnished.

Shafston University Mansions Standard Terms And Conditions for Students
Security Bond
Less than 26 weeks tenancy
Credit card details must be provided.
26 weeks and more
A bond equal to 4 weeks rent must be paid and lease signed.
The holder of the supplied credit card authorises the manager to charge the credit card for any loss, damage or monetary contribution for which the guest or any visitors are liable under this document or otherwise.
Accommodation fees must be paid fortnightly in advance (to obtain discounted long term rates total rent must be paid in advance).
Residents must pay their account in full, return keys and check out before 10.30am on day of departure.
No refunds will be given to residents evicted for unacceptable behaviour.
Residents must complete the inventory check list and return it within 24 hours of check-in.
Residents must pay for any missing and/or broken items, and any damage incurred during the stay.
The room will be inspected prior to, or on departure.
The room must be left in a clean and tidy state.
Residents must ensure that all cooking and eating utensils are washed dried and put away before vacating the unit.
If a Twin share Room has been reserved then the second part of the room cannot be used.
Residents must pay an extra cleaning fee, if extra cleaning is required because they have not complied with conditions 9, 10 and 11 above.
Residents agree to comply with the Shafston University Mansions Terms & Conditions as set out on the Registration Form.
Residents agree to inform Reception of any damage or breakages as soon as it happens.
A minimum of 7 days written notice must be given to Reception before early check out. Long Term stays must be completed in full.
Cancellation charges; The following charges shall apply for early checkout/departures.
Bookings 12 weeks or less
A cancellation fee equal to 2 weeks rent shall be charged.
Bookings 12 weeks up to 25 weeks
If a discounted long term rate has been charged the rent shall be recalculated based on the applicable tariff for the length of stay completed.
A minimum cancellation fee equal to 2 weeks rent shall apply if a new tenant is found, otherwise a cancellation fee up to 6 weeks rent can be charged if no replacement tenant is found.
Bookings 26 weeks and over
As per lease terms and conditions.
A lodgement request for any monies (less admin fees and transfer fees) must be lodged within 60 days of the time of cancellation. A lodgement request for any monies (less admin fees and transfer fees) after 60 days becomes void. Those monies become un-refundable and will be credited to the appropriate unit owner’s account.
A request for a room move must be made in writing and will be considered by the Manager. Room moves will incur a fee. Room moves are not permitted for Long Term stays.
Residents must not hang clothing, signage or other items in a manner visible from the outside of the building.
Residents must not lend their keys or give lift access to another person. Replacement of lost/stolen keys will incur a fee.
Residents must behave in a way as not to interfere with the peaceful enjoyment of another person.
Residents must allow cleaners and maintenance uninterrupted access for the purpose of cleaning and maintenance.
Residents must not sublet their unit.
Residents are responsible for costs incurred in the event the QLD Fire & Rescue Service are called due to a fire alarm.
Visitors are not permitted to use bedding or facilities provided for the use of residents.
Residents are responsible for the behaviour of their visitors at all times.
Visitors are not permitted in rooms after 10pm.
Visitors staying in the room over night must be registered and paid for by the resident.
Cigarettes, rubbish or any other item must not be thrown from windows or balconies.
Smoking is NOT permitted in the building.
Alcohol is NOT permitted in public areas including foyer, gym and lounge.
Rubbish must be placed only in the "Store" room located on each floor.
The room must not be used for any unlawful purpose.
Damage, loss or removal of any item or fitting must be paid for by the resident.
Bicycles, roller blades or skateboards are not permitted in the building.
Animals or pets are not permitted in the building.
Residency is governed by Shafston University Mansions By-Laws. A copy of the By-Laws is available at reception.

Long Term (12 Weeks up to 6 Months) Terms And Conditions Supplement.
In addition to the standard terms and conditions I agree to the following;
To pay all accommodation fees prior to commencing my stay.
That the placement fee for accommodation is not refundable under any circumstances.
That I cannot move rooms under this arrangement but have the right to inspect the unit prior to the commencement of this contract.
That if I have reserved a Private Room, I cannot change to a twin share room until the end of the long term contract.
Long Term 6 months and over conditions supplement
(all long term and standard terms and conditions apply in addition to the following)
A lease must be signed on arrival
Residents must agree to comply with the terms and conditions of the lease.
A bond equal to 4 weeks rent must be paid on arrival which will be held by the RTA (an Australian Government Authority). This can be redeemed after check out from an Australian Post Office or can be transferred into a nominated bank account (fees may apply) provided the following 3 points are satisfied.
The room passes a final inspection and is found to be in a satisfactory condition.
All outstanding accounts are paid in full.
The key and security card are surrendered.
If a student is departing before the office is open, the student should organise a bond refund by prior arrangement.
