How To Apply

Step 1

You may choose to visit and enlist the services of one of Shafston’s trusted partner agencies who will guide you through the enrolment process or you may apply directly to Shafston via the Online Application Form or by downloading our Application Form and completing all the details.

Please remember you must complete both pages of the Application Form and sign the written terms and conditions before we are able to confirm your offer of a place at Shafston.

If you would like to apply directly but would like the assistance of a trained Shafston student support staff member to assist you in what courses might best suit your needs, simply contact us or visit either of our campuses to speak to a student support officer in person.

Step 2

Students enrolling into an ELICOS English course/s only are required to attach a copy of your passport with your application.

Students enrolling into a VET course/s are required to attach your passport and certified copies of the following documentation with your application:

  • Passport
  • Academic pre-requisite 
  • English language pre-requisite

Note: For details on what will be accepted as a pre-requisite for your chosen course/s of study please view the course requirements or contact the College directly. For students applying with a partner agency please present your original documents to your chosen agent for them to copy and submit to Shafston.

For students applying directly copies can be certified by:

  • The official records department of the Institute that originally issued the documents
  • A Justice of the Peace or Notary Public
  • An authorised Shafston representative

Note: You must bring your Original documents with you to present to an authorised Shafston representative on commencement of your course.

Shafston will aim to respond to your application within 48 hours.

Step 3

If you have enlisted the help of one of our trusted partner agencies you will now supply your agency with the above documentation and they will assist you with completing the Shafston Application Form. Your agency will then contact Shafston to complete the rest of the process!

Step 4

You have decided to enrol directly with Shafston!

You have now completed the Application Form, Written Terms and Conditions and have gathered all your supporting documentation.

Simply send your application by:

  • Pressing submit on the Online Application Form
  • Email to: enrol@shafston.edu
  • Fax to:    07 33910943
  • Post to:  Shafston College
    Attention: Admissions Department

Step 5

If your application is successful you will receive Letters of Offer from Shafston which includes:

  • Course/s you have been Offered a Place
  • Orientation Start date and time
  • Course Start date
  • Course End date
  • Quote detailing fees payable

Step 6

If your application is received and you have not been able to supply all of the pre-requisite documentation but believe you have met the entry requirements as outlined you may receive a ‘Conditional Offer of a Place’ which includes:

  • Course/s you have been Offered a Place
  • Orientation Start date and time
  • Course Start date
  • Course End date
  • Conditions that you must meet before your Offer of a Place can be confirmed and ‘Unconditional’
  • Quote detailing fees payable

Step 7

Have you chosen to commence a packaged programme of study with Shafston and progress through your study onto a pathway with an Australian University?

Please advise us when you are sending in your Shafston application which University and which course you are interested in studying as a University Pathway. Shafston will send you the necessary University Application Form.

In order to accept the offer of a place you must complete the following:

  • Pay the fees as described on your offer letter and quote
  • On Shafston receiving your payment you will be issued with a receipt  and
  • If applying for a Student Visa you will receive your CoE’s which you must present to an Australian Embassy in your home country or if you are in Australia to your nearest DIAC office. If applicable to your personal circumstances you may also be able to apply on-line for a Student Visa.
  • Meet all conditions of your offer  

At this stage, if you ticked yes to accommodation or airport pick-up on the application form, you must also make payment of the associated quoted fees. These services are not confirmed until the associated fees have been paid.

Upon receipt of payment for your booked accommodation or airport pick-up you will receive written confirmation detailing:

  • Your pick up date and time (you must also provide flight arrival details for this to be provided)
  • Type of Accommodation confirmed
  • Check in date
  • Check out date
