With the Activities and Travel Centre and Clubs program there is something to do every day at Shafston.. A wide range of social events are organised by Shafston staff on a regular basis. These events are excellent opportunities to make new friends and learn about other cultures. Choose from Scuba Diving, Surfing, Animal Parks, Rainforest tours, Skydiving, Camping and much more! Located on-campus the activity centre is open every school day afterschool. Take part in a range of afterschool activities on campus. From Monday to Friday there is always something happening at Shafston. With our very own swimming pool, Tennis courts, Front yard lawn, gym cooking classes, free English pronunciation and conversation classes and clubs program, there will always be something for you to do.

Every two months (in summer Oct-March) Shafston hosts Summer Nights at the Brisbane campus. From 6-8pm a popular film will be shown on the landscaped lawns or a mini in house concert. Get together with your friends and enjoy a night under the stars in Brisbane warm climate. Good Friends, Good Food, Good Times.

Popular BBQ party place for Shafston students. Just 5 minute walk from Shafston and the area has a children's playground, tap, BBQ, paths, power, and car park. Toilets are close to the car park, playground and power facility. BBQ and tap are closer to the river front.
Offering impressive early morning or evening views, extending across the river to the City and beyond to the mountains, the cliffs are a popular picnic spot. The cliffs have gas barbecues and eating spots and some of the best look out points over the city.
Unlike students in the city centre that have to catch a bus to the nearest sports field, within 5 minutes from Shafston there is a large sports arena including soccer, basket ball and cricket facilities. Plenty of open space for you to play any sport you like. Get together with your friends and organise your own sporting events or join in with the locals. It’s a great opportunity to meet with Australians.
