Shafston students come from many different places throughout the world. Over more than 15 years the College has been actively promoted in all regions around the globe.
As a result the student population is a rich multicultural mix of nationalities where students have the opportunity to learn by making friends with others from completely different backgrounds. Our students come to study at Shafston for a great number of reasons, but the students are brought together as a result of their common objective to learn and improve.

Classes will typically have between 6-8 different nationalities in each class. This, in conjunction with our policy of insisting English Only is spoken in class, makes it significantly easier for students to practise using English, as they will usually find themselves between students of a different nationality. We believe Shafston is significantly different to the majority of language schools, due to this impressive mix of nationalities represented in the student body.
The environment at Shafston makes it easy for students to make these important friendships. There are plenty of places throughout the campus which make it the perfect place to meet new people. Whether it is in Café Renior at lunch time, the courtyard around the coffee cart, the terrace overlooking the river, the Shafston Mansions on-campus accommodation or spread out on the lawn enjoying the beautiful sunshine, you can make lifetime friends.
